Off we go.........

Today, Capacité Dentaire finished our first outreach at a basketball tournament taking place in Conakry, Guinea. After several weeks of planning and organization, our local team of volunteers provided free oral health education to a group of 336 people.

The tournament gave the Capacité Dentaire team time to give a short presentation on oral health which included education for dental caries, prevention, and hygiene. After, all tournament participants and fans in the stands were given a toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss.

Our team reports that everyone was very grateful and excited to learn about better ways to take care of their teeth! Research has shown that oral health education can lead to significant changes in the knowledges, attitudes, and behavior of persons in the prevention of tooth decay.
